felty fun gift guys and painting for wedding
The above painting is a gift for my brother and his new wife.
We had a day away at work, and I decided to focus on creating these felties. I think I will use them on Christmas gifts this year!

Cycling Poster for Xmas
More experimentation for the bicycle picture for my step-mom...thinking a start of a pattern for a table cloth.

Gorilla
This is George. He is a gorilla. He might share a banana with you, if you ask nicely and be his friend!

unusual creatures
There are some strange creatures on this planet. How did they evolve and why do they have the features they do? It's fun to ponder, as I create these two water-loving creatures.

tears
Some days I just feel down and things come out from inside. This is what came out today. It's all part of the fabric of being alive.

It's all Part of the Process
I believe these sketches are ideas that are ruminating...some will inform my work, some will develop. It's all part of the process. These were drawn while my husband and I drove out West across Kansas into Colorado this last week.

Boots and Birds
A fun pair of boots - would love to wear these!
These two are deciding to be friends, as it is just more fun that way.
These guys got their feathers all in a ruffle...wonder who will win this fight?!

My Second Home in Norway
Amazingly, this house is made of Balsa Wood, but stays constructed due to the architectural genius that was put into designing the thing. Amazing.

Westport - Waiting
I was waiting in my car for an appointment the other day and I decided I could use the time to sketch something from real life. Practicing this often is good.

Birds with All Sorts of Personality
Some birds seem like they would have a bullying personality.
While others would rather just spend their days shopping.

Monkey!
All I can say is monkeys are pretty darn neato. This guy is waiting to see if you want to go swing through the trees with him.

Jon in the car on Sunday
This is my husband...again, I was looking for real life things to draw. This was what was available, as when we are driving, it is hard to capture things as we are speeding by. Maybe I will try that next!

Scary Cute
This dolphin is super cute, but I bet I would be a bit alarmed were I to swim up to him unexpectedly while scuba diving in the warm seas.

CAUTION - The Sea is Unstable
I thought this was fitting for this week's Illustration Friday topic: Caution. I thought it would be fun to give the overwhelming ocean the personality of a creature that could easily lose its temper.

Barbeque Utensils
It had been a while since I just sat down a looked at something and drew it, so that is what I did tonight. We were going to barbeque, but we ended up just sitting on the patio drawing. It was a really nice evening for it!

Cleo and Another Proper Princess
I was trying to capture the personality of my dog, Cleo. She has a real poker face, as many shibas do. She also acts like a princess, so delicate and demanding of what she wants.
Cleo reminds me of a deer, or a horse. Her upright position, so proper, with big eyelashes. She knows she is special. This is a horse I drew while thinking of beautiful, "proper" looking animals.

project for art unleashed & more detail on raging storm
It was fun to gocco, then paint and build a cutstom frame for this piece for Art Unleashed. I plan to go this year and buy some art! The best thing about it is that the proceeds go to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
The last two are more detail on the "raging storm" painting. I am trying to spend more time on each piece and give each the attention it needs.
